The Choctaw County Medical Center is located in Ackerman in east central Mississippi. CCMC is a 25-bed acute care hospital and nursing home. It also provides services for senior care and has three medical clinics; one in the hospital, the Weir Medical Clinic and the Mathiston Medical Clinic.

In January 2008, Rural Healthcare Developers contracted to manage the hospital and nursing home. In connection with the Senior Care unit, the Patients' Choice Behavioral Health unit was established to provide a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
