RHD contracts to manage Raleigh hospital; adds inpatient Senior Care program
Rural Healthcare Developers has entered into a contract with Guardian Angel Healthcare, Inc., for administrative and clinical management of Patientsí Choice Medical Center of Smith County.
RHD assumed management of the 19-bed acute care hospital effective May 17, 2010.
Rural Healthcare Developers has had a prior association with the Raleigh, MS hospital, having provided expertise in meeting regulatory and licensing procedures to reopen the facility in 2007. RHD allowed the use of its brand name, Patients' Choice, leaving open the possibility that RHD might have an opportunity to manage the hospital in the future.
A hospital with Joint Commission (JCAHO) certification, PCMC has retained its state and federal licenses and its Medicare certification.
RHD will have responsibility for supervising and managing all hospital operations. Maintenance of the hospital will be assumed by RHD as well as providing supplies and services required in the operation.
Rural Healthcare assumes the responsibility of providing staffing sufficient to ensure efficient and effective operations. PCMC currently employs approximately 27 hospital personnel.
Rural Healthcare Developers opened a Behavioral Health Outpatient Program followed by reopening an inpatient Senior Care unit.
